Privacy policy
Last updated 24 Oct 2026
What personal information Tritally collects, why we need it, who we share it with and what you can ask us to do with it. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988.
1. Who this covers
Business owners and their team who use Tritally, and the customers of those businesses. A business’s customer details come from its accounting software, or from invoices it sends us.
2. What we collect
We only collect what we need to run the service:
- About you: your name, business email, mobile, business name, ABN and whether the business is registered for GST, and how you confirm it’s you when you sign in. Passwords are stored as a one-way hash.
- From your accounting software, once you connect it: customers, contacts, invoices and payments.
- From your customers: their replies to emails and texts, recordings and transcripts of calls Tally makes, payments made on the pay page, and ratings and feedback.
- When you use Tritally: your device and browser, IP address, and a log of sign-ins and changes (the audit log).
3. How we use it
To do what your business signed up for: chase overdue invoices on its behalf, take payments and payment plans, answer replies and ask happy customers for a review. Also to keep accounts secure, to help when you contact support, to bill you, and to make Tritally better.
We never use your customers’ details to market to them, and we never sell personal information.
5. Where it’s kept
Your data is stored in Australia. Some providers process it overseas; when they do, we take reasonable steps to make sure they protect it the way the Australian Privacy Principles require.
6. How long we keep it
For as long as the account is open. After it closes we delete or de-identify it within 90 days, unless the law says we must keep a record for longer, such as tax records.
7. Your choices
You can see and correct your details in Settings, download your data, or ask us to delete it. Your customers can stop emails, texts or calls at any time: every message says how, and Tally stops straight away.
8. Keeping it safe
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, every sign-in asks for a second step, and when Tritally support opens an account to help, the visit is logged in the account’s audit log and ends by itself.
9. Questions and complaints
Email support@tritally.com.au. If we haven’t fixed it within 30 days, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
